Fire of 2010

yesterday, as i was helping kate winter proof her windows, i got a call from my mom to go over to the apartment that i shared with my sister. as she put it,'because it's on fire.' i had no idea what had happened or if anyone was home. when i arrived at the apartment, a little under a mile away, i saw rebecca outside with her cat. ok, i thought, no one was seriously hurt. next was my archives and photo gear. i started mentally inventorying what was in the apartment. camera-at kate's. iMac- at kate's. RAID- IN THE APARTMENT. laptop- IN THE APARTMENT. i started to flip out. when i got to rebecca and she calmed down a bit she told me that she closed the door to my room on her way. it turns out that simply by trying to keep the cat out of there she saved most of my stuff. she wasn't as lucky. the firefighters used her room as a boxing ring in which to fight the window unit that had caused the fire. while they were able to prevent the fire from spreading the black smoke spread throughout the entire house, settling on any and everything. the cleanup will take a lot of effort but it could have been a lot worse.

my boy caleb invited me to shoot his some of his wedding with my t4. i was happy to oblige.
