at work

my brother gave this to me for christmas yesterday and i have spent all day reading it. what i find the most interesting in this is annie's struggle with validation. always worried that she is selling out. i have been questioning myself a lot about that lately. am i doing what i should be as a wannabe fine art photographer? i don't know. but knowing that the most celebrated photographer of this generation did/ does the same thing helps me a lot. i also am really interested in her ability to have different styles, and make both of them original to her. her reportage style is incredible and then she is able to create some of the most incredible formal portraits of our time. truly remarkable and a great read.
